join us for a weekend of offerings celebrating the wide-ranging life and career of Victoria architect, furniture designer and heritage restorationist Peter Cotton (1918-78). Held in conjunction with the Victoria Design Festival, we will be presenting both an exhibit and a panel discussion about this seminal figure in our local design history.

The exhibition will present furniture designed by Cotton for his company, Perpetua, between 1950 and 1955. Produced during a formative period in his career, these works demonstrate a rigorous approach to proportion, material selection, joinery, and form, which would later establish him both nationally and internationally. Also represented are several of Cotton’s architectural works including his design renovation of 510 Fort St. for Open Space. This exhibit will be open between 11 and 4 from Friday, May 1 to Sunday May 3. * Note – This exhibit will take place at Open Space Gallery (510 Fort St.), not at Wentworth Villa.
