Panel Discussion: ‘Architectural Curation – Exhibits as a Portal to Architectural Assessment’

Architecture provides a shared cultural asset – critical in the character of our communities, and in the quality of our cities. Typically, human communities are dynamic – evolving, shifting, progressing, but also defining their own histories in built form. What roles can architecture play in advancing human needs and civilizations? What factors of history, continuity, legacy – and creativity, can be entrusted in communities?

Architectural exhibits can provide a focused opportunity to assess the localized aesthetic, creative, and functional needs and qualities of our world. How can these built themes, values – and accomplishments be presented and examined through architectural exhibit curation?

As the opening Autumn Session for the Vancouver Island Network RAIC, and as a celebration of the conclusion of the successful John A Di Castri Architect Exhibit, please join us for our public discussion of these topics at the Wentworth Villa on the evening of September 20, 2023.
