Sara Davis Buechner – Japanese Piano Music and Ibert’s Histoires, with guest artist Yayoi Hirano (Japanese mask dancer).
Our season ends with an exciting return visit by internationally renowned pianist Sara Davis Buechner, who gave the inaugural recital at Wentworth Villa in May 2016. Now based at Temple University, Philadelphia, Ms Buechner is returning to the West Coast to play in Portland, Oregon, and we have been able to persuade her to include Wentworth Villa in her busy itinerary. She will perform an acclaimed program she gave at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York in June 2017. The program comprises Japanese Piano Music and French composer Jacques Ibert’s Histoires, choreographed and danced with Japanese masks by Yayoi Hirano.
